BOOK REVIEW | Hatching The Cosmic Egg

Nested Cosmic Egg

“Since it has been seen to be necessary to give so much to the child, let us give him a vision of the whole universe. The universe is an imposing reality, and an answer to all questions.”

Dr. Maria Montessori

To Educate The Human Potential, page 5

Everything is perfect.

As we flew cross-country in our Cessna 182, I’d look down and think that everything is perfect. That all the ugliness had disappeared.

The cars in the junkyards appeared in colorful patterns, glinting in the afternoon sun.

Factories. Industrial areas. Highways. On the ground I thought they looked awful. From 10,000 feet, it all looked perfect.

When we can offer children a vision of the universe, to offer them a perspective that looks at Earth with awe and respect, we sow seeds of hope and possibility.

Dr. Michael Dorer in his children’s book, Hatching The Cosmic Egg, lifts the child through story up into the universe to view life and humanity as the miracle it is.

Humans are the inventors of language and mathematics…and much more.

Each of us is a child of the universe, a part of the wonderful Cosmic Egg.

I look forward to reading this book with my granddaughter and singing the songs by Andrew Kutt on the accompanying CD.

From a larger perspective, everything is perfect.
