NEW | Kickstart Your Creativity

Why aren’t we ever formally taught the strategies to become more creative?

Our ability to generate, develop, and bring life to new ideas is the foundation for the life we all want to lead…

…and yet, at every turn we’re taught habits, routines, and belief systems that squash our creativity flat.

Why We Struggle

Many people stop believing they’re creative by adulthood.

They go about their everyday lives saying to themselves, “I’m not a creative person, I like my facts and my plans. I could never be an artist.” Or, “How can they expect me to just come up with ideas like that? It’s not like I’m a creative person. I’m an accountant for goodness sake!”

We’ve been taught to believe that creativity is something you’re born with… or not.

The concepts of right-brained and left-brained people, and myths of the creative geniuses out there who have always been artists, or performers, or writers have permeated every part of our society.

And what’s more, we’re taught that if you’re rational, logical, structured, strategic, or scientific… you CAN’T also be creative.

And all of that is just. Plain. Wrong.

That’s where the strategies and structures for creative idea generation and development come into play.

How Great Creatives are Made

When we hear of great new artists, musicians, performers, or creative thinkers, it’s easiest to assume they were born with an innate ability to create.

And while that might be partially true, there are actually proven methods that anyone can use to more easily receive, generate, or develop creative ideas.

But since these skills are not widely known…

…we don’t usually think about how we could use our skills to be more creative in our own passions. In fact, we may not even know what those skills ARE!

And when we do look for help, a lot of the advice out there is based on pseudoscience, or taken from the court of popular opinion.

It’s no wonder so many of us have trouble receiving, capturing, and developing those “shower thoughts” and “bolt-out of-the-blue” moments into full-fledged ideas.
