Building Number Sense Live Talk

Next time you set the table with your child, try a small experiment: Ask your child to bring you three forks. Just that.

Many children who can count to twenty will come back with a proud fistful of five.

With that little moment you see something no worksheet can:

Saying the numbers and understanding quantity are two different skills. The first one is a song. The second one is math.

The reassuring part?

Understanding quantity grows through the hands, in ordinary moments exactly like that getting forks for dinner. Handing out apple slices. Sorting socks into pairs. Carrying two cups to the table without spilling.

I’m excited to let you know that I’ll be giving a Live Talk on Building Number Sense from 3 to 6 with the Childhood Potential Club on Sunday, October 4.

We’ll be looking at how to feed your child’s building number sense between ages 3 and 6 with at-home activities.

In this session you’ll learn about:

  • The Montessori number work progression for ages 3 to 6, so you always know which step comes next
  • How children actually see quantity, and how the famous Montessori materials build on that
  • How to support it all at home, without buying expensive materials

I’ll also answer your questions about building number skills.

When:

Sunday, October 4

8:00 PM Prague · 7:00 PM London · 2:00 PM New York · 11:00 AM Los Angeles

Live on Zoom · replay included if you can’t make it

It is hosted inside the Childhood Potential Club, and you can save your seat right now.
